We are pleased to sponsor the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (FACL) Ontario’s 13th Annual Conference and Gala on February 8th in downtown Toronto.

 

FACL Ontario is a diverse coalition of Asian Canadian legal professionals working to promote equity, justice, and opportunity for Asian Canadian legal professionals and the wider community.

 

The conference theme this year is Realities in Law and Practice and will include a luncheon fireside chat with Justice Goodwin Liu (Associate Justice, California Supreme Court) and Justice Shaun Nakatsuru (Ontario Superior Court of Justice).

On Giving Tuesday this year, Heuristica was pleased to sponsor three families this holiday season.

 

Through Holiday Helpers the firm sponsored three single-parent families with a total of four kids ranging from 5 to 8 years old.

Once again Heuristica is pleased to sponsor the Laskin, Canada’s only annual national bilingual moot court competition.

 

The Laskin provides a unique opportunity for law students, judges, law professors and practitioners from across Canada to meet and debate problems of current importance in the law.

 

Every year, the Laskin has featured a problem that is concerned with issues of national interest and social importance.  Subjects addressed in past years include discrimination against women, the rights of First Nations peoples, language rights, globalisation, freedom of expression, and the legal implications of cutting-edge technology.

 

The competition’s goals are to foster a better and deeper understanding of the law and to support and encourage legal education and bilingualism while at the same time promoting in the legal community a spirit of cooperation and understanding that transcends linguistic and provincial boundaries.… Read More

We are happy to sponsor “La Canícula“, an art exhibition by Vivian Suter with Elisabeth Wild at The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery in Toronto.

 

The exhibition marks the Canadian debut for both artists who currently live in Guatemala.
