Olivia has provided eDiscovery and evidence management services in relation to a wide range of matters, including criminal prosecutions, civil litigation, commercial arbitration, judicial review and regulatory prosecutions. As a reviewer, she leverages technology to maximize efficiency and accuracy and her skill in the use of Relativity enables her to deliver powerful outcomes for our clients
Before becoming a lawyer, Olivia completed graduate studies at the University of Western Ontario, where her research focused on theories of language and cognition. She continues to stay abreast of developments in cognitive science and artificial intelligence, and believes that the practice of law in the 21st century involves a marriage of technology, analysis, and legal know-how.
Olivia summered and articled at a firm that specializes in complex criminal litigation. In that capacity, she prepared trial briefs for dozens of lengthy jury trials, on charges ranging from fraud to homicide. This included many document heavy cases involving extended undercover operations, wiretaps, and the seizure of computers, hard drives and cell phones.
Prior to joining Heuristica as an Associate, Olivia practiced at a civil litigation boutique, where she had carriage of a variety of files with a focus on property disputes, professional negligence, motor vehicle accidents, and commercial host liability. Olivia has appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice and has assisted senior counsel with matters before the Ontario Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada.
